Quick Catch up

My mom and I at the Oregon Culinary Institute after our appy class. We made Louisiana Shrimp, Caviar Torte (yikes), and salmon cakes. It was so fun!!

Kiara came home from school before the night of the school Talent Show and said "Mom I have to make a bug costume for our bug parade" and I with Levi's homework and running kids to everything there was just no way that I could make anything. Meanwhile, she spent hours in the office cutting and gluing away. I let her have at it till I had two minutes to help her. Before that two minutes arrived, out she comes dressed up in her paper bug costume that was probably 10 times better than what I would have made for her. It had sleeves and everything! So fun when they can start to take care of themselves (occasionally). I personally thought she was the cutest bug there...

This weekend we went to see the much publicized "Wicked". I was a little skeptical just b/c of all the hype...but after, thought it was awesome! We went with my parents and Derek and Jaymie and had a great time.

In an effort to win "Dad of the Year" Spencer not only made a Pine wood derby car for Levi (who took 2nd place by like 1/100th of a second or something ridiculous), but to be all-inclusive, made one for the girls too. They only got to race theirs one or two times, but both of their cars won as well. The girls and Levi were thrilled with their derby cars. (Grey car is Emma's, Camo is Levi's, Orange is Kiara's). Such fun.

I had so much fun at the park Friday! Levi was so funny with Macie and Emma was adorable showing me just how she woos her prince! I'm glad you enjoyed Wicked and I'm sorry that Levi took second in the big derby. In my old ward they stopped doing placement for the derby because 3 years ago two dads got into a fight (literally) over their sons' cars. I hope Spencer didn't throw any punches :) Oh and I'm also sorry that Tink ate your sandwich at the park.

I can't believe Kiara could do such a great job. I loved seeing a picture of your mom. She looks amazing---you both do for that matter. I am a total Wicked fanatic!! I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you have the music, it is great to run to. It's like half listening to a book and half music. Tell Spence the cars are fantastic!!

I have wanted to see wicked...was it totally.....wicked? (OK, I'll stop.) Way to go on the costume Kiara (she would have been the cudtest by a landslide any. You have such cute kids). And a cooking class sounds like so much fun!

My mom could barley get my dad to make one car for my brother (my only brother). Needless to say I am SUPER impressed, and the cars look really cool.

Oh, I totally want to see Wicked! I am wondering if I can talk Kevin into taking me to see it on Broadway before we move. (Did you know we are moving to Vegas this summer?! Yea!) How was your cooking class? Did you love it? I have been thinking lately I really want to do that kind of thing. I think I will look into that when we get "settled" in Vegas. I love to cook, why not get paid somehow right?!
